Applied Intuition is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join our Acuity Autonomous Behaviors and Agents engineering team. In this role, you will design and implement advanced algorithms for real-time autonomous mission coordination, contributing to our Axion and Acuity systems that enhance human-machine teaming across various domains. This position is based in San Diego, California.

As a Senior C++ Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing multi-agent optimization algorithms for distributed decision-making and coordination problems. Your day-to-day work will involve creating mathematical models for sequential decision processes under uncertainty, building computational frameworks that balance algorithmic efficiency with human-interpretable reasoning, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to refine algorithmic approaches based on empirical evaluation.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or 5+ years of professional experience developing intelligent agents or planning systems. Proficiency in modern C++ (C++20), strong theoretical understanding and practical experience with algorithms for constraint satisfaction, scheduling, and optimization problems, and experience developing in Docker-based Linux environments are essential. Additionally, candidates must be U.S. citizens eligible for a U.S. SECRET clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.

Compensation for this full-time position includes a base salary ranging from $150,000 to $200,000 USD annually, along with equity and comprehensive benefits.
