Senior Cost Accounting Analyst II
The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst II at Rocket Lab's Long Beach, California headquarters is responsible for overseeing the company's cost accounting functions. This role involves managing inventory valuation, analyzing production order costs, and ensuring compliance with SOX controls. The analyst will report to the Senior Cost Accounting Manager and collaborate closely with the accounting team and other departments.
Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries for inventory reconciliation, allocating raw material costs, and reclassifying operating expenses. The analyst will generate and present quarterly reports on slow-moving inventory reserves, support updates to overhead and labor rates, and analyze trends in cost variances and production volumes. Additional duties involve investigating cycle counting variances, closing work orders, and initiating process improvement projects to enhance financial processes.
Candidates should have over eight years of experience in general ledger and cost accounting, along with a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience. Proficiency in inventory valuation, transaction analysis, and variance analysis is essential. Knowledge of Moving Average Unit Cost (MAUC) and standard cost processes is required, as well as experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $135,000, along with company equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
