Senior Data Engineer (Contractor)
Legend Biotech is a global biotechnology company dedicated to developing advanced cell therapies for life-threatening diseases. The Senior Data Engineer (Contractor) will join the IT team to enhance the company's data infrastructure, supporting its mission to deliver cutting-edge treatments.
In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will design and build batch and incremental data pipelines using Azure-native orchestration services to move data into and out of Snowflake. Responsibilities include supporting push and pull architectures across files, APIs, enterprise applications, and external partners, as well as developing curated, consumption-ready datasets in Snowflake using standardized, reusable patterns. The engineer will also implement data quality and reconciliation controls within pipelines and follow CI/CD and controlled deployment practices across development, quality assurance, and production environments.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure orchestration and integration services, as well as experience working with Snowflake as a data lake or warehouse. Proficiency in ETL/ELT and push/pull integration patterns is essential, along with experience operating in regulated or validated (GxP) environments. Strong SQL and data engineering fundamentals are required, as well as familiarity with enterprise data platforms, multi-domain data architectures, CI/CD, role-based access control, and secure data sharing. Experience with data catalog tools and implementation, as well as integrating ERP, manufacturing, or regulated systems, is also desired.
