Senior Data Engineer, Knowledge & Information
Komodo Health is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Knowledge & Information team, focusing on developing core data products that power the company's Healthcare Map. This role is pivotal in transforming extensive healthcare datasets into reliable and efficient data assets that support both customer-facing applications and internal product innovations. By enhancing foundational data systems, the Senior Data Engineer will contribute directly to improving health outcomes across the industry.
The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, operating, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines using Python, SQL, Airflow, and cloud infrastructure. Key tasks include implementing robust data quality checks, developing LLM-powered Human-in-the-Loop pipelines for data extraction and curation, and transforming various healthcare datasets into performant Healthcare Map data products. Additionally, the role involves contributing to system design, architecture, code quality, testing, documentation, and providing rotational production support.
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience in building and debugging production-grade data pipelines at scale in AWS, with a keen focus on data quality and reliability. Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, along with experience using Airflow or similar orchestration tools and Spark or comparable distributed processing frameworks. Effective communication skills are necessary to collaborate across engineering, product, and data teams. Comfort with AI-assisted engineering tools for productivity and technical exploration is also expected.
The position offers a competitive salary range, with annual base pay between $153,000 and $238,000, depending on location and experience.
