Senior Data Engineer
The Senior Data Engineer at Modern Health will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with big data technologies, cloud platforms, and a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to enable reliable data integration and analytics. The engineer will architect and implement robust data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and databases. Additionally, they will partner closely with AI engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Ensuring data quality, accuracy, and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring is also a critical aspect of the role.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in data engineering within a modern technology stack, software engineering with data warehousing experience, or data science with data infrastructure experience. Proficiency in functional programming languages such as Python, Go, or Scala, as well as strong experience with big data technologies and distributed systems, is essential. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake, are also required.
Compensation for this role varies by location. For Zone 1 (San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro), the salary range is $138,500 to $162,900 USD. For Zone 2 (all other California locations and Seattle, WA), the range is the same. Zone 3 (all other New York locations, all other Washington locations, Washington DC, Austin, TX, CT, IL, MA, NH, NJ, OR, RI, VT) offers a range of $124,650 to $146,610 USD. Zone 4 (all other Texas locations, AL, AK, AZ, AR, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VA, WV, WI, WY) offers a range of $117,725 to $138,465 USD.
