Senior Data Scientist, Forecasting and Routing
The Senior Data Scientist, Forecasting and Routing at Spring Health will lead the design and deployment of advanced forecasting and optimization models that power the company's precision care routing systems. This role involves defining the analytical and technical direction for key initiatives that determine how care resources are allocated, demand is predicted, and members receive the right care at the right time. The position is part of the Routing & Forecasting team and reports to the Senior Manager of Data Science. Spring Health is a leading provider of mental health services, partnering with over 450 companies and providing care for 10 million people.
Key responsibilities include leading the end-to-end design and delivery of high-impact data science projects, developing and maintaining advanced forecasting and routing algorithms, and defining the technical direction for data science initiatives within the Forecasting & Routing domain. The role also involves partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate operational needs into clear research questions and data products, applying advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to complex forecasting and routing challenges, and championing MLOps best practices. Additionally, the Senior Data Scientist will collaborate closely with engineering to ensure efficient model deployment and mentor junior data scientists.
The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field. They should possess deep proficiency in Python and SQL, demonstrated expertise in time series forecasting, predictive modeling, and causal inference, and hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models using AWS SageMaker. Familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, dbt, GitHub, scikit-learn, and MLflow is also required. Strong understanding of experimental design, statistical inference, and uncertainty quantification, along with excellent communication skills and a passion for applying data science to real-world problems in mental healthcare, are essential.
The target base salary range for this position is $183,500 - $205,550 and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits.
