Senior DevOps Engineer I
Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer I to join its Optical Systems division in Chantilly, VA. This role focuses on developing and maintaining software infrastructure to support advanced Electro-Optical (EO/IR) technology for the U.S. Space Development Agency's (SDA) Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). The position offers an opportunity to contribute to mission-critical space domain and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) challenges for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers.
Key responsibilities include supporting AWS development, test, and production environments, collaborating with project leads and team members, and aligning with Security and IT for policy assurance. The engineer will develop and support pipelines that automate configurations for containers, data management, and release/deployment solutions. Additionally, the role involves automating software deployments into varied and complex environments using virtual machines, container technologies, Kubernetes, cloud environments, and bare metal servers.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline, along with 5-8 years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based development and operations environments. An active TS/SCI security clearance is required. Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in a technical field, experience with architecting solutions in AWS Cloud environments, proficiency in key AWS services, and familiarity with DevOps tools and pipeline environments such as Jira, SharePoint, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Artifactory.
