Senior Director, Business Development (New Verticals)
Flex, a growth-stage FinTech company headquartered in New York City, is revolutionizing the rent payment experience by enabling users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that aligns with their finances and budget. As part of our mission to empower renters with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense, we are seeking a Senior Director of Business Development (New Verticals) to spearhead our expansion into new industries.
In this high-impact role, you will proactively identify and secure strategic enterprise partnerships for Flex’s embedded Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) offering within uncharted payment verticals such as insurance, utilities, telecom, auto, and healthcare. You will lead the full sales motion—from pipeline creation and partner outreach to negotiation, launch, and revenue scaling—collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful technical deployment and long-term partnership health.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or enterprise sales within FinTech, Payments, or SaaS. A proven track record of sourcing and closing complex, first-of-kind deals, particularly involving platform-based partnerships and one-to-many distribution models, is essential. Strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to operate with urgency and adaptability in fast-changing environments are also required.
Flex offers a competitive compensation package, with on-target earnings (OTE) ranging from $280,000 to $360,000 USD for candidates in Tier 1 markets (NYC/SF). Compensation for other U.S. locations is adjusted based on a geographic pay differential aligned with local market conditions.
