The Senior Director of Learning and Development at WPP Media is a pivotal role within the company's Talent Management function, reporting directly to the Head of Talent Management for GroupM India. This position is based in Mumbai, India, and is integral to WPP Media's commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. WPP Media, as WPP's AI-driven media operating unit, combines media, data, and partnerships to deliver creative personalization at scale, empowering clients to achieve transformational growth.

The primary responsibilities of this role include designing and structuring comprehensive learning and development programs aligned with business priorities. This involves conducting thorough needs analyses, consulting with business leaders to identify development opportunities, and crafting high-level learning strategies. The Senior Director will collaborate with external partners, regional learning and development teams, and GroupM's trained trainers to customize programs that adhere to instructional design principles. Additionally, the role entails developing evaluation models to measure the impact of learning initiatives on teams, clients, and overall business performance, as well as structuring long-term learning programs for entry-level talent.

Execution of the learning strategy is a key aspect of this position. The Senior Director will lead the preparation and promotion of the learning calendar to ensure consistent program delivery. Responsibilities also include refreshing systems and processes to facilitate large-scale training sessions, managing budgets, scheduling, and delivery. Engaging with Learning Champions through upskilling, feedback, and recognition is essential, as is facilitating mid to senior-level sessions both virtually and in-person. The role also encompasses conducting learning audits and talent management surveys, preparing debrief reports for leadership, and leveraging the Learning Management System (LMS) to support the delivery, reporting, and overall management of learning initiatives.

To drive a culture of high performance, the Senior Director will oversee the entire performance management cycle, from goal-setting to check-ins, appraisals, and reviews. Ensuring teams adhere to timelines and complete processes in time for increment cycles is crucial. Based on performance appraisals, the Senior Director will suggest learning and development solutions for identified high-potential cohorts. Collaborating with the GroupM Youth Executive Committee on their development goals, including projects, reverse mentoring, and individual growth plans, is also a significant part of the role. Additionally, the Senior Director will work proactively with Agency Talent teams to address development needs and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
