Senior EHS Engineer
The Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer at Divergent is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs across the company's advanced manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while proactively fostering a safety-first culture within a highly automated production environment that includes additive manufacturing, robotics, CNC machining, and materials processing. The EHS Engineer will collaborate closely with manufacturing, facilities, and engineering teams to identify hazards, reduce risks, and implement scalable safety systems that support Divergent's rapidly growing, high-tech production platform.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining EHS programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards. The engineer will conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations to identify causes and implement robust corrective actions. Additionally, the role involves partnering with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure the safe design and operation of automated production systems, leading environmental compliance initiatives, and developing and delivering EHS training programs for employees and leadership.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field, along with 3–7+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or industrial environments. A strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and industry best practices is essential. Experience performing risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations is required, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are also necessary.
