Senior Electrical Engineer, Manufacturing Test
As a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Manufacturing Test team at Anduril Industries, you will design and build complex systems and PCBA platforms to test our products. Utilizing data acquisition and physical layer interfaces with FPGA, MCU, and off-the-shelf equipment, you will ensure our systems meet stringent standards, consistently delivering high-quality products to our customers. Collaborating within a multi-disciplinary design team, you will manage requirements, capture custom circuits, and design complex assemblies and harnesses. Additionally, you will work with firmware engineers to enable board support packages for embedded Linux and bring up MCU RTOS platforms. This role requires creative problem-solving to address challenging testing issues and a commitment to continuously improving automation methods, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics.
Key responsibilities include designing circuits and schematics for test automation platforms, integrating designs into Anduril's PDM systems, and sourcing PCB assemblies of varying complexity. You will architect and source circuit board test fixtures, integrating your designs with both internally developed and off-the-shelf data acquisition equipment. Building an internal library for test circuits for data acquisition and leveraging your expertise for DFM/DFT are also essential. Additionally, you will bring up, debug, and characterize circuits, including low-speed interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN) and high-speed signals (RF, memory, USB).
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with over 5 years of relevant industry experience focusing on product designs that have progressed to manufacturing. Proficiency with professional electronics design packages such as Altium, Cadence, or PADs for schematic capture and layout is required. Expertise in PCBA design, including the ability to design and fabricate your own designs or guide contract manufacturing resources, is essential. Familiarity with electronics test equipment like power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition and measurement sensors is necessary. Experience with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems and releasing designs for production is also required. Candidates must be U.S. Persons due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Preferred qualifications include over 8 years of relevant industry experience, experience with scripting tools like Python for configuration and automation of setup tasks, and familiarity with FPGA PCBA platforms, including RTL, design synthesis, and bare-metal coding. A Master's of Science in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field is advantageous. An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is also preferred.
