Senior Embedded Software Engineer
Archer is seeking a Powertrain Platform Embedded Software Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, we are dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft aimed at advancing sustainable air mobility. Our mission is to design, manufacture, and operate aircraft that can carry four passengers with minimal noise, revolutionizing urban transportation.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing safety-critical software components for the Powertrain software team, focusing on systems such as battery management and motor controllers. Your day-to-day tasks will include participating in planning, design, coding, and testing phases, collaborating with system engineers to decompose requirements into high-level and low-level software specifications in compliance with DO-178C standards. Additionally, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and integrate complex hardware/software systems, ensuring software requirements decomposition, analysis, definition, and traceability, as well as conducting software analyses, requirements-based testing, and structural coverage analysis.
The ideal candidate will possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in C and fluency in Python are essential, along with experience in developing embedded software, preferably in regulated environments complying with safety standards like DO-178C or ISO 26262. Familiarity with debuggers and lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and bus analyzers, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills, are also required.
Compensation for this position ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
