Senior Engineer, Advanced Spaceborne Hardware-Software

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development of advanced spaceborne hardware-software systems. This role is integral to the Advanced Technology Development team, focusing on pioneering space computing platforms that transition from traditional flight software to containerized workloads in orbit. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for architecting spaceborne container platforms, leading the design and implementation of container orchestration systems optimized for resource-constrained, radiation-prone space environments. Collaboration with hardware engineers is essential to select and validate modern chipsets for space use, ensuring the software stack can handle the unique fault modes of commercial silicon in space. Developing software reliability strategies to mitigate hardware faults and enabling high-performance edge computing by optimizing machine learning inference engines are also key responsibilities.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering and be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance, requiring US citizenship. A minimum of 5 years of experience working with radiation-hardened or radiation-tolerant electronics is required. Deep experience with containerization platforms and orchestration tools, specifically Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher, is essential. Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, C++, or Python, with a focus on building reliable, distributed systems, is also necessary.
