Senior Engineer, Connectivity Software - WiFi
Samsung Semiconductor Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its Wireless Connectivity Software Engineering team in San Jose, California. This role focuses on developing software infrastructure, frameworks, and protocol stacks for 802.11-based WLAN chipsets, contributing to Samsung's innovative wireless connectivity solutions.
The Senior Engineer will work with 802.11 WLAN chipsets, devices, and protocols, including other networking devices. Responsibilities include collaborating with wider teams for end-to-end feature deliverables, building and maintaining production-quality firmware, and designing and developing modules in embedded firmware for Samsung’s Wireless Connectivity solutions. A major focus will be implementing, unit testing, and fixing issues in various features of 802.11 MAC.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, a Master's with 3+ years, or a PhD with relevant experience in wireless communication technologies. Essential skills include excellent coding abilities in C for embedded firmware development, proficiency in debugging low-level embedded software, and a strong understanding of WLAN standards, particularly Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) MAC protocols. Additional advantageous skills encompass knowledge of OFDM, OFDMA principles, beamforming, RF concepts, QoS concepts, data path optimization algorithms, Linux OS, kernel and device driver development, and familiarity with debugging tools like Wireshark and version control systems such as Git.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $138,000 to $206,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
