Senior Engineer, GNC
The Senior Engineer, GNC role at Archer is a critical position within the company's engineering organization, focused on guidance, navigation, and control for advanced electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The primary responsibilities for this position include leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced GNC algorithms. The engineer will perform analysis and modeling to support flight control system development, evaluate sensor integration, and troubleshoot vehicle behavior. Everyday work encompasses reviewing requirements, running simulations, conducting design reviews, supporting both hardware-in-the-loop and flight testing, and refining algorithms based on test data.
Archer is seeking candidates who bring significant experience in GNC engineering, ideally with a background in aerospace, robotics, or a related field. Required qualifications include a strong foundation in dynamic systems, estimation theory, controls, and embedded software. Proficiency with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ programming, as well as experience working with real-world flight systems or autonomous vehicles, are essential.
