Senior Engineering Manager
Braze is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Canvas Logic and Execution (CLX) team, responsible for the full platform lifecycle of Canvas, our flagship product for marketing automation workflows. This mission-critical system processes billions of asynchronous jobs and operates on global infrastructure spanning multiple cloud providers. The role is pivotal in refining the platform based on user feedback and expanding its capabilities to support complex, personalized real-time workflows at massive scale.
The Engineering Manager will contribute to the architecture, development, and optimization of the product, ensuring the establishment and maintenance of best-in-class systems. Key responsibilities include defining efficient processes, fostering the professional growth of engineers, and collaborating closely with the Product Manager and Designer to align team efforts with core product objectives.
Candidates should have over 5 years of relevant management experience with a strong track record of success. Essential qualifications include demonstrated technical leadership, the ability to drive and advocate for iterative product development and engineering excellence, and a proven history of architecting and driving significant technical initiatives for large-scale platforms. The ideal candidate will be a calm, patient, and inspiring leader with excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing competing priorities and multiple streams of work simultaneously. Experience with agile processes and tools is also required. Bonus qualifications include experience with distributed systems, MongoDB, Redis, Datadog, Kubernetes, React, Ruby, and Ruby on Rails.
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $153,000 and $270,300 per year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $180,000 and $318,000 per year, including bonus or commission.
