(Senior) Engineering Manager, Data Engineering
CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Data Engineering team, responsible for building and maintaining a petabyte-scale enterprise data lake. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, guiding engineering execution and fostering a culture of ownership and growth. The Data Engineering team designs resilient data pipelines and scalable lakehouse systems to support analytics and operational decision-making across the company.
The Senior Engineering Manager will oversee the development and operation of CoreWeave's data infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability. Responsibilities include leading the team in designing and implementing data solutions, maintaining high-quality datasets, and collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, HR, Operations, and Engineering to translate strategic priorities into actionable data initiatives. The role also involves staying hands-on with key parts of the data ecosystem to ensure operational excellence.
Candidates should have at least 8 years of experience in building and operating distributed software systems, with significant data engineering expertise. A minimum of 3 years in managing and scaling engineering teams responsible for production systems is required. Proficiency with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark and Flink, a strong understanding of failure modes in distributed systems, and experience in setting and tracking objectives using quantitative metrics are essential. A proven track record in hiring and developing engineering talent is also important.
The base salary range for this position is $161,000 to $237,000, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the base salary, the total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program.
