Sterlington PLLC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. This full-time, independent contractor role is designed to support U.S. Eastern Time working hours and is based in Lisbon, Portugal. As a full-service law firm specializing in complex corporate, litigation, executive compensation, and private wealth matters, Sterlington focuses on both the economic and legal aspects of our cases, serving founders, senior executives, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, and other essential financial functions. Responsibilities encompass preparing and analyzing financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, managing month-end close processes, reviewing the general ledger, and performing reconciliations. Additionally, you will consistently analyze complex financial data to identify trends and variances, producing detailed monthly financial reports to inform senior management's decision-making. Coordinating with external tax preparers to ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations and filing requirements is also a key aspect of this position.

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a strong foundation in financial analysis and reporting. A comprehensive understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential, along with hands-on experience with accounting ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Oracle. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex functions like INDEX, MATCH, and OFFSET, as well as broader MS Office Suite skills, is required. Prior experience in internal or external audit and familiarity with AI, automation, or advanced financial technologies are desirable.

Sterlington offers a collaborative and inclusive work environment where unique perspectives are valued. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain visibility within the firm, and contribute meaningfully to our financial operations. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your workload while supporting a firm committed to excellence in legal and financial services.
