Senior Financial Analyst
Sterlington PLLC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. This full-time, independent contractor role is designed to support our operations during US Eastern Time working hours. As a full-service law firm specializing in complex corporate, litigation, executive compensation, and private wealth matters, we emphasize both the economic and legal aspects of our cases, providing comprehensive solutions to our clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. You will prepare and analyze financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Additionally, you will oversee the month-end close process, review the general ledger, and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Key responsibilities include analyzing complex financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, producing detailed monthly financial reports for senior management, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. You will also manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, adhering to established calendars, and serve as the primary liaison with external tax preparers to ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a strong foundation in financial analysis and reporting. A comprehensive understanding of US GAAP is essential, and prior experience in internal or external audit is desirable. Proficiency with accounting ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Oracle, as well as advanced skills in MS Excel and the broader MS Office Suite, are required. Experience with AI, automation, or advanced financial technologies is a plus.
