Archer is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join its software team, focusing on the design, development, and testing of safety-critical software for the company's fault-tolerant flight control system. This role is integral to advancing Archer's mission of sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.

The Senior Flight Control Software Engineer will be responsible for developing safety-critical software components for Archer's flight control system. Key duties include participating in project planning, design, scheduling, and tracking; decomposing system requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements in compliance with DO-178C standards; collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to integrate complex hardware and software systems; and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes to enhance safety and efficiency.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least 4 years of experience in flight control software or a related area. Proficiency in C/C++, experience with MATLAB/Simulink, and fluency in scripting languages such as bash and Python are essential. Additionally, experience developing software that complies with safety standards like DO-178C to high criticality levels (DAL-A/B) is required. Familiarity with communication standards and protocols (e.g., RS-422/485, CAN, ARINC-429, AFDX, Ethernet, TCP/IP) and experience with Model-Based Software development and certification (DO-331) are also important.
