Senior Frontend Engineer - Product Platform

As a Senior Frontend Engineer in the Product Platform Supergroup at Canva, you will be instrumental in developing shared frontend frameworks and component libraries that support all product teams. This role offers the opportunity to impact hundreds of engineers and billions of user interactions by enhancing the consistency, speed, and reliability of Canva's design experience.

Your primary responsibilities will include building tools and infrastructure to streamline development workflows and improve code quality. You will identify and address frontend performance and scalability challenges, collaborate with design system and product teams to ensure accessibility and consistency, lead technical design discussions, and mentor engineers to foster growth within Canva's frontend community.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience developing large-scale frontend applications, with expertise in JavaScript, React, TypeScript, and modern build tools such as Webpack and Vite. A strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and accessibility is essential. Experience in building shared frameworks, design systems, or developer tooling, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills, is highly valued. An interest or experience in integrating AI capabilities into user experiences is considered a bonus.
