Senior GNC Engineer
Archer is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our team in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to advancing sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing flight control algorithms for our electric VTOL aircraft. Your day-to-day activities will include building simulations to verify and validate system requirements, running trade studies to inform aircraft design and system architecture, and collaborating with the Flight Test team to design tests that safely evaluate vehicle capabilities. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to connect GNC requirements with other system requirements and improve the fidelity of our vehicle and environment simulation models.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, optimization, and both classical and modern control theory. A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, is required. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink is also essential.
Archer offers a competitive base salary ranging from €85,000 to €105,000, with actual compensation determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
