Senior Ground Software Engineer I - TS/SCI
As a Senior Ground Software Engineer I at Rocket Lab's Long Beach, CA site, you will develop advanced spacecraft ground software for various Space Systems missions. This role involves supporting both internal and external customers, with deliverables required for internal leadership, the board of directors, and investors.
Key responsibilities include developing and evolving web-based software architecture for spacecraft operations, collaborating with flight software developers, operations personnel, and systems engineers to understand requirements, deploying and configuring the Rocket Lab Ground Data System, establishing monitoring and alerting systems to detect system degradation and outages, and identifying ground systems issues to provide technical insight for resolution.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, with over five years of relevant software development experience, particularly in Python. Additionally, 2-5 years of experience in cloud engineering, designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud solutions, and architecting web-based software applications are required. An active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance is also necessary.
Rocket Lab offers a competitive base salary ranging from $140,000 to $175,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
