Senior Incident Manager
Braze is seeking a Senior Incident Manager to join our Technology Operations Team, focusing on major incident management, process management, program management, and release management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Braze operates as a technology-first business, with standardized processes and policies to manage growth and scale effectively. The Senior Incident Manager will report to the Head of Incident Management and collaborate closely with various engineering departments to enhance scalability, observability, and reusability.
Key responsibilities include creating, communicating, and executing incident response strategies across Security, IT, DevOps, and Product Engineering. The role involves driving the resolution of incidents by partnering with Engineering, Technical Support, and Customer Success teams. Additionally, the Senior Incident Manager will lead projects to improve tools and processes related to manageability, observability, and resiliency, manage incident-related training programs, oversee the incident management process, prioritize incidents based on business impact, contribute to the blameless post-mortem process, and lead the weekly release process as part of the release management team.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in incident management, operations, or technical support. They should possess strong communication skills to effectively convey critical issue statuses to executive staff and other stakeholders. The role requires the ability to build and maintain relationships across the business, lead and make decisions within teams, prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environments, and have experience leading technical incidents to resolution. A strong technical background with experience in tools like Jira, Confluence, and Datadog, as well as a foundational understanding of release management concepts, DevOps, and SRE, is essential.
For candidates based in the United States, the starting salary for this position is expected to be between $130,000 and $150,000 per year, with an On Target Earnings (OTE) between $145,000 and $165,000 per year, including bonus or commission. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs), ensuring that employees have a stake in the company's success.
