Senior Incident Manager
Braze is seeking a Senior Incident Manager to join our Technology Operations Team, focusing on major incident management, process management, program management, and release management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our engineering departments operate cohesively, with standardized and continually improving processes. The Senior Incident Manager will report to the Head of Incident Management and play a key role in maintaining the scalability, observability, and reusability of our systems.
Key responsibilities include creating, communicating, and executing incident response strategies across Security, IT, DevOps, and Product Engineering. The role involves driving the resolution of incidents by collaborating closely with Engineering, Technical Support, and Customer Success teams. Additionally, the Senior Incident Manager will lead projects to enhance tools and processes related to manageability, observability, and resiliency, oversee incident-related training programs, and manage the incident management process and team members involved in resolving incidents. Prioritizing incidents based on their urgency and business impact, contributing to blameless post-mortem processes, and leading the weekly release process are also key aspects of this role.
The ideal candidate will have over seven years of experience in incident management, operations, or technical support. They should possess strong communication skills to effectively convey critical issue statuses to executive staff and other stakeholders. The ability to build and maintain relationships across the business, lead decision-making processes, and work collaboratively within teams is essential. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and agility in various team roles, effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure, and have experience leading technical incidents to resolution. A strong technical background with experience in tools like Jira, Confluence, and Datadog, as well as a foundational understanding of release management concepts, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), is required.
Braze offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary ranging from $130,000 to $150,000 per year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $145,000 and $165,000 per year, which includes bonuses or commissions. In addition to cash compensation, this role qualifies for a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock units (RSUs), ensuring that employees have a stake in the company's success.
