inKind is seeking a business-minded Senior Legal Counsel to support the company’s legal, regulatory, and compliance functions during a critical phase of growth. This role will serve as a key legal advisor to leadership and cross-functional teams, providing practical, solutions-oriented counsel across a broad range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. The Senior Legal Counsel will also collaborate with outside counsel, ensuring advice is aligned with business realities and delivered efficiently.

Key responsibilities include providing timely, practical legal counsel on matters such as commercial contracts, contract enforcement proceedings, bankruptcy, employment law, partnerships, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of agreements, including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, client agreements, litigation filings, financing documents, NDAs, and service agreements. Additionally, the Senior Legal Counsel will support employment-related matters, assist with corporate governance, help identify and mitigate legal risks, monitor relevant legislative and regulatory developments, partner on corporate transactions, coordinate with outside counsel, and provide clear interpretation of contractual language and regulatory requirements across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and have 6–10+ years of legal experience, preferably in a technology company, startup, fintech, marketplace, or high-growth environment. A strong background in commercial contracts and corporate law is essential, along with demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are also required. Preferred qualifications include a combination of law firm and in-house experience, experience in a consumer marketplace or financial services environment, familiarity with employment law and regulatory compliance frameworks, exposure to mergers & acquisitions, venture financing, or structured credit transactions, multi-state bar admission, and business education or formal finance exposure.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 to $200,000, depending on experience. Benefits include generous PTO and company holiday policy, company-paid short-term disability, 100% employer-covered health and dental insurance for direct employees (with higher-tier healthcare coverage available at additional cost; dependent coverage at employee’s cost), vision plan available at employee’s additional cost, child care benefits, generous parental leave, a dog-friendly workspace in a secure building with great views of downtown Austin, and daily lunches and snacks.

inKind fosters a collaborative and inclusive company culture, emphasizing support for restaurant partners and customers. The company values relationship-building, clear communication of legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders, and a pragmatic approach to balancing risk and growth. Employees are encouraged to be highly organized, capable of managing multiple legal matters simultaneously, and to exercise independent judgment. The company’s mission is to support the success of independent restaurants and hospitality groups by providing funding and enriching customers' dining experiences with the inKind platform.
