Senior Legal Counsel
The Senior Legal Counsel at NiCE will be a pivotal member of the Americas Legal team, focusing on high-value commercial and technology transactions integral to NiCE's customer experience business. This role emphasizes the growth of NiCE's CXone Mpower platform through the negotiation and structuring of complex technology, SaaS, and strategic partnership agreements. The position requires close collaboration with sales, product, finance, security, and privacy teams to address issues at the intersection of cloud technology, data protection, and regulatory compliance, while providing practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
Key responsibilities include leading complex transactions, providing legal and regulatory guidance on U.S. and international issues related to SaaS, data protection, cybersecurity, and commercial contracting, and scaling legal operations by developing, maintaining, and improving legal playbooks, templates, and contracting processes. The role also involves partnering cross-functionally with legal colleagues and stakeholders globally to align legal strategies with business priorities, anticipating regulatory changes, enabling the business through education and training on legal, compliance, and contracting best practices, and building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
The ideal candidate should possess a strategic and commercial mindset, a collaborative approach, clear and persuasive communication skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and a team-oriented professional demeanor. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to at least one U.S. state bar are required, along with 7+ years of experience in technology transactions, including SaaS agreements, data protection, and cybersecurity. Experience in the cloud technology sector and familiarity with global data protection laws are preferred.
