As a Senior Legal Counsel at Upsun, you will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to integrate legal compliance into the platform's architecture. Your role will involve reviewing platform features, drafting appropriate terms, and aligning legal frameworks with business objectives. You will also manage infrastructure and vendor risks by negotiating complex contracts, including IaaS agreements and marketplace deals. Additionally, you will develop legal frameworks for AI and emerging technologies, ensuring compliance with regulations such as the EU AI Act.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification, with active authorization to practice law in their jurisdiction. A minimum of 5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, particularly supporting SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or developer-facing platforms, is required. Technical familiarity with modern cloud applications is essential, including an understanding of APIs, containerization, and multi-tenant databases. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and French is necessary.
