Senior Legal Counsel
ROLLER is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Australia. As a global SaaS company operating in over 30 countries, we provide innovative solutions for the leisure and attractions industry, including ticketing, point-of-sale, self-service kiosks, memberships, and digital waivers. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape our legal function during a pivotal growth phase, backed by Insight Partners.
In this position, you will act as a strategic partner to our Product & Tech team, offering legal counsel that balances technical compliance with commercial objectives. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable systems to monitor and interpret regulatory changes across multiple jurisdictions, managing a global network of local counsel to ensure international compliance, and translating complex foreign laws into actionable product requirements. Additionally, you will provide lead counsel for ROLLER’s financial product suite, including Payment and Capital, and navigate the intersection of technology and financial services regulation to support new product launches.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification, with a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law, compliance, and contract management, ideally within a fast-paced consumer or e-commerce environment. Experience with trademark management and intellectual property enforcement is required, along with a strong understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA. Exceptional judgment, the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion, and a 'business-first' approach to legal issues are essential.
