The Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Payhawk will be the inaugural hire in the lifecycle marketing domain, responsible for developing and executing email marketing strategies aimed at nurturing prospects and retaining existing customers. This senior individual-contributor role reports directly to the VP of Growth Marketing and is expected to evolve into a team leadership position within 12 to 18 months.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing renewal and retention campaigns to safeguard and expand the current customer base, as well as creating lead-nurture tracks for prospects not yet ready for sales engagement. The role also involves managing opportunity-nurture tracks to broaden deal scopes and enhance win rates, and developing upsell and expansion campaigns, win-back and reactivation flows, and customer advocacy programs such as case studies, referrals, and NPS initiatives. Collaboration with regional marketing leads is essential to align campaigns with each region’s pipeline and retention targets, and partnership with marketing operations is necessary to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of all campaigns. Additionally, the manager will oversee all external customer email communications, coordinating with Support and Product Marketing to manage the overall flow and distribution.

Candidates should possess substantial experience in B2B SaaS lifecycle marketing, with a proven track record in building nurture, onboarding, retention, or win-back programs from the ground up. Expertise in utilizing a marketing automation platform end-to-end—including segmentation, journey and workflow creation, and reporting—is required. The role demands comfort in being the first to establish this function, building without an existing playbook or team. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills are essential, as the manager will work closely with regional marketing, ABM, partnerships, and marketing operations teams. A history of using retention and expansion metrics, such as NRR, GRR, and churn, to inform campaign strategy is crucial.

While not mandatory, experience in building these programs from scratch multiple times is advantageous. Compensation includes 30 days of paid holiday, a week-long exchange program to various office locations, additional medical care, a fully funded sports card for gym or class access, a monthly travel allowance for commuting, and hands-on access to Payhawk's product.
