Senior Machine Learning Scientist
Intercom is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our dynamic team in Dublin, Ireland. As a key member of our Machine Learning team, you will play a pivotal role in defining and developing new machine learning features that enhance our AI-first customer service platform. Intercom is dedicated to transforming customer interactions through innovative AI solutions, and this position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to that mission.
In this role, you will identify areas where machine learning can add value for our customers, frame product problems appropriately for ML solutions, and collaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders in Product and Design. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting exploratory data analysis, researching and selecting suitable algorithms and tools, performing offline evaluations to validate algorithm effectiveness, and working with engineers to transition prototypes into production. Additionally, you will plan, measure, and communicate learnings to inform iterative improvements, partnering deeply with the team to build excellent ML products.
The ideal candidate will possess broad applied machine learning knowledge with 3-5 years of relevant experience, practical statistics knowledge including experiment design, intermediate programming skills, and strong communication abilities across disciplines. Comfort with ambiguity and a scientific thinking approach are essential. Typically, candidates have advanced education in machine learning or a related field, such as an MSc.
