Rocket Lab's Optical Systems division is seeking a Senior Manager of DevOps Engineering to lead a team of engineers in supporting the U.S. Space Development Agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). This role is based in Chantilly, Virginia, and focuses on deploying applications for advanced space payloads. Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services, complete spacecraft design and manufacturing, and satellite components, aiming to open access to space.

The Senior Manager will lead a team across various business functions, including enterprise tools, finance tools, engineering development processes, and software development integration and deployment. Responsibilities include driving best practices for AWS Cloud-based architecture, collaborating with project leaders to meet mission objectives, and working directly with Security and IT for policy assurance. The role also involves developing and supporting pipelines for automation, container configurations, data management, and release/deployment solutions.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, along with 1-3 years of software engineering or DevOps management experience. An active TS/SCI security clearance with a Counterintelligence Polygraph is required. Applicants should have over 10 years of experience in architecting AWS cloud solutions, proficiency with DevOps tools like Bitbucket and Jenkins, and experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker. Additional qualifications include proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting languages like Java, Python, Terraform, or Bash.
