Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the turbopump assembly for the Archimedes engine at their Long Beach, CA headquarters. This role involves developing new products and revisions related to both Rutherford and Archimedes engines, supporting the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Production, and delivering results for internal leadership and investors.

Key responsibilities include contributing to design reviews with expertise in design for manufacture and machining, designing and implementing tooling and equipment to enhance quality and cost performance, and leading continuous improvement and cost reduction projects. The engineer will collaborate with propulsion assembly technicians, perform value stream mapping, develop production processes with clear documentation, and interface with the quality team to resolve manufacturing issues.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline. For the Senior Manufacturing Engineer I level, a minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy development manufacturing environment is required, while the Senior Manufacturing Engineer II level requires at least 8 years. An understanding of fluid and structural mechanics fundamentals and knowledge of manufacturing processes for aerospace materials are essential.
