Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer
The Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer at Block plays a pivotal role in ensuring that millions of hardware devices produced meet or exceed design specifications and customer expectations. This position is based in Singapore and involves frequent travel to Malaysia, Vietnam, and China. The engineer will be part of a diverse team responsible for designing board-level and end-of-line test stations for products incorporating technologies such as display, touch, NFC, audio, and WLAN.
Key responsibilities include designing, building, and supporting functional test stations at both board and product levels. The engineer will independently debug and resolve station issues, proactively identify and implement improvements, and respond swiftly to factory-impacting problems. Serving as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for test stations, the role encompasses development, deployment, and ongoing production support. Additionally, the engineer will develop and maintain test station software, implement robust error handling, and analyze test data to conduct root cause analysis of failures, documenting findings and proposing evidence-based solutions.
Candidates should possess over five years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with proficiency in programming languages such as Python or LabVIEW. A solid understanding of statistics and experience with data visualization tools like SQL, JMP, or Matplotlib are essential. The ability to read schematics and knowledge in circuit design at the maker level or beyond are required. Hands-on experience with hardware lab equipment for testing and measurement, as well as a willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time, are also necessary.
