Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Motor
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in motor systems at Archer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the design and optimization of propulsion systems that are central to Archer's mission of revolutionizing urban air mobility.
Your primary responsibilities will include leading the mechanical design and development of electric motors, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards. This involves creating detailed 3D models, conducting simulations, and overseeing prototype testing to validate designs. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the aerospace or automotive industries. Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or CATIA, and a strong understanding of materials science, thermal management, and structural analysis are essential.
