Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS)
EarnIn is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to lead the development and scaling of new and existing product experiences. This role involves driving feature development, serving as an architect, optimizing performance, and ensuring a seamless user experience. The position is based in Mexico City, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring two days a week in the office.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing complex product features that significantly impact customer experience and business outcomes. The role may involve architecting and optimizing mobile infrastructure to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability. Collaboration with backend engineers to define and evolve robust, efficient, and well-documented APIs is essential. The engineer will champion and enforce engineering best practices across teams, raising standards for code quality, system design, and operational excellence. Additionally, the role involves identifying and driving strategic technical initiatives, providing clear vision, architectural guidance, and effective problem-solving for complex challenges. Architecting and overseeing the development of comprehensive unit, integration, and UI automation testing strategies to guarantee the quality and stability of new features and existing functionalities is also expected. Defining and analyzing key performance indicators using advanced analytics to measure feature effectiveness and drive data-informed decisions for future product enhancements is part of the role.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. They should have over 4 years of relevant industry experience, with a significant portion focused on mobile development and a track record of leading complex projects. Expert-level proficiency in Swift, with deep expertise in modern iOS paradigms such as Combine, Swift Concurrency, and SwiftUI, is required. An extensive understanding of iOS application architectures like MVVM, MVP, and VIPER, along with the ability to architect scalable and maintainable mobile solutions, is essential. Experience in mentoring and guiding other engineers, fostering technical growth within the team, is desirable. Familiarity with Android development and cross-platform technologies is a strong plus. Active participation in the broader iOS development community, such as open-source contributions or conference presentations, is advantageous. Experience using AI-assisted development tools like Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs is also beneficial.
