Archer is seeking a Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer to join our powertrain team in San Jose, California. As a leading aerospace company, Archer is dedicated to developing all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to revolutionize urban air mobility with sustainable solutions.
In this role, you will develop high-fidelity simulation models for powertrain components, including electric motors, batteries, inverters, transmissions, and thermal management systems. Your work will involve conducting vehicle-level trade studies and optimization analyses to enhance efficiency, performance, and range. Additionally, you will update and refine these models based on data from dynamometer, track, and real-world tests to support vehicle certification processes.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field. A minimum of four years of experience in simulation, controls, coding, optimization, model architecture, and modeling is required. Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and the ability to translate models into production C code are essential.
