Senior Platform Software Engineer I

Braze is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer I to join our team responsible for designing and building the distributed systems that power our massive-scale background processing platform. As a Platform Software Engineer, you will collaborate with application teams to evolve the Sidekiq platform they depend on and improve the reliability, performance, and developer experience.

In this role, you will develop Braze’s embedded frameworks that enable large-scale distributed processing. This includes designing, building, and operating internal software frameworks that power our asynchronous and background processing systems at massive scale. You will also manage incidents by being on a PagerDuty rotation to respond to availability incidents and provide support for other engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of distributed systems development or platform/infrastructure experience. You should have strong Ruby and Rails experience, with Go experience being helpful. Additionally, experience with distributed systems, message queues, or background job processing, with a strong focus on Sidekiq, is required.
