Senior Product Manager, AI Trust & Safety
The Senior Product Manager for AI Trust & Safety at Spring Health will lead the development and implementation of standards to ensure that AI-driven features within the company's mental health platform are both safe and trustworthy. This role involves collaborating with engineering, data science, legal, and clinical teams to define and uphold what constitutes 'safe and effective' AI in the context of mental healthcare. The position is based in New York City, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 2-3 days per week in the office.
Key responsibilities include owning the roadmap for the AI Trust & Safety team, prioritizing initiatives to enhance the safety of AI experiences across the platform. The role also involves defining strategies to leverage data for improving AI system performance, establishing operational approval processes for AI features prior to deployment, and partnering with machine learning engineers and data scientists to scope and prioritize technical work that supports AI safety and trust.
Candidates should have at least 4 years of product management experience, particularly with a focus on machine learning or AI systems. A strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including model lifecycles, performance metrics, failure modes, and validation methods, is essential. Experience in defining goals and specifications for model evaluation, red teaming, or risk mitigation is also required. Effective cross-functional communication skills and the ability to manage complex problems in fast-paced, ambiguous environments are crucial.
The target base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $202,400, complemented by a competitive total rewards package that includes equity and benefits. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, location, and internal pay equity.
