Senior Product Safety Engineer II
The Senior Product Safety Engineer II at May Mobility is responsible for defining and implementing functional safety concepts derived from safety goals and safety cases, aligning with standards like UL4600 and ISO 26262. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, development teams, suppliers, and customers to achieve safety objectives across products. The engineer will own and manage the safety plan, including planning and executing functional safety confirmation measures such as audits and assessments to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include developing the safety case for the Driver Out system, defining functional safety concepts from safety goals and safety cases according to UL4600 and ISO 26262, and managing the safety plan to meet product launch schedules. The role also involves planning and coordinating safety activities with various stakeholders, collaborating with development teams to ensure on-time delivery of mature work products, and creating and reviewing safety work products such as HARA, FSC, TSC, FTA, FMEA, SPFM/LFM, PMHF, and DFA.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a highly technical field, along with at least 7 years of related work experience. A strong working knowledge of safety frameworks such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, and DFA is essential. Excellent communication and presentation skills, an analytical mindset, and a proven track record of problem-solving are also required. A master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
