Senior Product Sourcing Engineer, Intelligence Systems (Active Clearance)
The Senior Product Sourcing Engineer for Intelligence Systems at Anduril Industries is responsible for developing strategic supply networks and managing the cost of product hardware throughout its lifecycle. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure efficient production and development processes.
Key responsibilities include analyzing engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure components are sourceable and cost-effective, selecting and onboarding suppliers to meet the specific needs of the Intelligence Systems business line, and driving on-time delivery by addressing traditional industry lead-time challenges. The engineer will also partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through activities such as concept scoping, feature trade-offs, cost modeling, joint design development, and simulation of mechanical and electronic designs. Additionally, the role involves developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs, managing program costs from new product introduction through mass production, conducting value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead times, and ensuring completion of all component qualifications ahead of production.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field and have at least 8 years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices. Expertise in value/procurement engineering or total cost of ownership analysis at the component and product level is required. An active U.S. Secret or Top Secret clearance is necessary, along with the ability to travel 10% to 40% of the time, depending on program needs. Relocation to Reston, VA, is required if not already local.
Preferred qualifications include a master's or advanced technical degree, extensive experience in the design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, early supplier engagement, familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment, experience in fast-paced startup settings, direct experience in the space industry, and proficiency in negotiating and managing commercial subcontracts.
The salary range for this position is $146,000 to $194,000 annually, with actual offers varying based on factors such as experience, education, and critical skills.
