Senior Project Engineer

As a Senior Project Engineer at Rocket Lab, you will lead technical project management from concept through to launch. This role involves close collaboration with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. You will be instrumental in implementing new designs, driving engineering changes, and solving challenges to improve processes and deliver results.

Key responsibilities include managing new designs from pre-release to launch, coordinating across departments to ensure smooth transitions. You will build strong relationships across teams to align on project priorities, tackle technical challenges to deliver practical solutions, analyze and improve systems to enhance efficiency, and implement safer, more efficient practices to reduce lead times and optimize costs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of engineering experience, ideally in aerospace. Hands-on experience with complex electro-mechanical systems, strong communication skills, and the ability to produce clear technical documentation are essential. A proactive, adaptable attitude and a willingness to take ownership of projects, along with the ability to navigate challenges and influence stakeholders, are also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience in project management or project engineering, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems like JIRA or Team Center, and knowledge of production quality metrics and composite assemblies.
