Senior Research Data Analyst
Komodo Health is seeking a Senior Research Data Analyst to join their team in the United States. This role is integral to designing and implementing data processing and analysis pipelines for Life Science, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), and Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies utilizing the Komodo Healthcare Map. The company is dedicated to reducing the global burden of disease by providing comprehensive insights into the U.S. healthcare system.
In this position, the Senior Research Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute observational research studies. Responsibilities include architecting end-to-end programming pipelines for large-scale healthcare data extraction, transformation, and validation using SQL, and implementing complex statistical modeling in R to support HEOR/RWE studies. The role also involves maintaining high-quality standards through rigorous documentation, best coding practices, quality control processes, and version control with Git throughout the study lifecycle. Additionally, the analyst will produce publication-ready deliverables, present interim and final results to stakeholders, and design standardized programming modules to enhance research reproducibility and analytical efficiency across projects.
Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative field, along with over five years of industry experience developing production-grade SQL pipelines for large-scale databases. Proficiency in R (preferred), Python, or SAS for statistical programming is required, as well as experience with Git version control and command-line workflows. Hands-on experience with administrative claims, Electronic Health Records (EHR), or equivalent Real-World Data (RWD) is essential, along with familiarity with healthcare data models and U.S. medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and NDC. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with epidemiologists and subject matter experts to execute research studies, a solid understanding of epidemiological principles, and the ability to implement statistical analyses including descriptive analytics, regression, hypothesis testing, and visualization. Adaptability to learn new tools and methods in fast-paced environments and the ability to manage concurrent projects with competing deadlines are also important.
