Senior RF Design Engineer I/II
Rocket Lab Corporation is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer I/II to join their Space Systems team at the global headquarters in Long Beach, California. This role focuses on developing new radio frequency (RF) products, including the Frontier-Lite Radio, and involves collaboration with the radio development team to design and simulate RF products. The successful candidate will contribute to Rocket Lab's mission of delivering responsive launch services and complete spacecraft design and manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining requirements specifications, designing and prototyping RF products with component selection and PCB layout, and supporting the development of test plans and procedures. The engineer will also assist in developing ground support equipment (GSE) and production automation, create product documentation such as interface control documents (ICDs) and user manuals, and liaise with test and manufacturing engineers to drive new product introduction.
The ideal candidate for the Senior RF Design Engineer I position will have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF communications, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. For the Senior RF Design Engineer II position, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required. Fundamental RF knowledge, including cascaded device analysis, link budget analysis, and experience with HFSS, is essential. Additionally, experience in developing and delivering RF products, assessing requirements, prototyping engineering models, and producing space-worthy products is necessary.
Rocket Lab offers a competitive base salary ranging from $130,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
