The Senior Sales Director, Strategic Retail at Braze will lead a team of Strategic Account Executives focused on customer acquisition and retention within the retail sector. This role is pivotal in driving the growth of Braze's Customer Journey Orchestration platform, a leader in the industry. The director will be instrumental in developing and executing sales strategies tailored to the retail and consumer goods markets.

Key responsibilities include hiring, nurturing, and leading a team of world-class sales talent, setting and executing aggressive customer acquisition and expansion strategies, and developing vertical go-to-market strategies and sales playbooks specific to the retail sector. The director will also collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to build a robust retail vertical go-to-market motion, including industry event presence, thought leadership, and targeted outbound strategies. Additionally, the role involves coaching the team through the overall sales process, participating hands-on in deals, and providing detailed and accurate sales forecasting.

Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of successful experience leading a team of at least five quota-carrying Strategic Account Executives. A proven ability to recruit, retain, inspire, and develop top talent is essential. Experience in leading teams through the full lifecycle of a SaaS customer, including prospecting, acquisition, retention, and long-term relationship growth, is required. Demonstrated success in developing vertical go-to-market strategies and sales playbooks, ideally within retail and/or consumer brand segments, is highly desirable. Strong technical and business acumen, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and excellent commercial and legal negotiation skills are also necessary.

The compensation for this position includes a base salary ranging from $172,500 to $225,000 per year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $345,000 and $450,000 per year, including bonus or commission.
