Braze is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Currents team, responsible for developing and maintaining Currents, a high-scale data export system. This system is a robust Kafka-based event pipeline that processes tens of billions of messages daily, enabling customers to analyze user behavior in near real-time. The role involves collaborating with a skilled team to bring projects from concept to production and enhancing existing systems.

Key responsibilities include resolving live performance and reliability issues, writing and reviewing code to foster a culture of reliability, practicing sustainable incident response and conducting blameless postmortems, defining standards for monitoring and performance, bridging infrastructure and platform engineering teams, planning for scalability and reliability, and mentoring junior engineers in SRE best practices and agile project leadership.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field, along with five years of experience in software or site reliability engineering. Required skills include deploying and monitoring applications using distributed systems like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm, working with alerting software such as Sentry, Datadog, or PagerDuty, proficiency in programming languages like Java, Kotlin, or Ruby, experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres and MongoDB, familiarity with data streaming technologies like Kafka, Sidekiq, or SQS and SNS, and experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or Buildkite.

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,600 to $232,200 annually, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $144,000 and $258,000 per year, including bonuses or commissions.
