The Senior Site Reliability Engineer II at Braze is a pivotal role within the engineering team, focusing on maintaining and enhancing the reliability and scalability of the company's internal services and platforms. In this role, the engineer will collaborate closely with various engineering teams to architect products that effectively utilize infrastructure platforms in a scalable and reliable manner. Key responsibilities include debugging reliability and scalability issues across all stack layers, developing infrastructure as code using tools like Chef, Terraform, and Kubernetes, and creating deployment pipelines for applications in multiple languages using Docker and Kubernetes. Additionally, the engineer will be part of an on-call rotation to manage incidents, respond to availability issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent future incidents.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience as a Software, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer. Proficiency in Linux and Unix shell environments is essential, along with strong programming skills in Ruby and/or Go. Experience with infrastructure as code technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform is required, as well as familiarity with data technologies like MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, and Postgres. The role demands excellent collaboration skills, a proactive attitude towards problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and expectations effectively.
Braze offers a competitive compensation package for this position, with a salary range between $156,364 and $279,957 per year, and an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $172,000 and $306,000 per year, including bonuses or commissions.
