Senior Site Reliability Engineer II
Braze is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer II to join our dynamic team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the reliability and scalability of our internal services and platforms. As a key member of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will collaborate closely with various engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and uptime of our systems. Braze operates at a massive scale, serving over 3.3 billion monthly active users and processing hundreds of billions of data points each month.
In this role, you will partner with engineering teams to architect products that effectively utilize infrastructure platforms in a scalable and reliable manner. Your responsibilities will include debugging reliability and scalability issues across all stack layers, developing infrastructure as code using tools like Chef, Terraform, and Kubernetes, and creating deployment pipelines for applications in multiple languages using Docker and Kubernetes. Additionally, you will be on a PagerDuty rotation to respond to availability incidents and provide support for other engineers, using your on-call shifts to prevent incidents from occurring.
The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience as a Software, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineer. You should possess strong programming skills, with proficiency in Ruby and/or Go preferred, and have experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar infrastructure-as-code technologies. Familiarity with data technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, or Postgres is also essential. A proactive attitude, excellent ability to manage multiple tasks, and a desire to solve everyday challenges facing software engineers are key attributes for success in this role.
Braze offers a competitive compensation package, with the pay range for this position at the start of employment expected to be between $156,364 and $279,957 per year, and an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $172,000 and $306,000 per year, including bonus or commission.
