Senior Software Engineer, Backend
Archer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to join our dynamic team in San Jose, California. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the backend systems that power our innovative electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology in the sustainable air mobility sector.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable backend services that support various aspects of our eVTOL operations. Your day-to-day tasks will include developing APIs, managing databases, and ensuring system reliability and performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to integrate backend solutions with other systems and to support the overall mission of advancing sustainable air mobility.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in backend software development, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or Go. Experience with cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and database management is highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, along with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, is required. Familiarity with aerospace or aviation systems is a plus but not mandatory.
