Cato Networks is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Prague, Czech Republic. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing cloud-based networking and security management solutions, contributing to new products and features that have a direct impact on our customers. As part of a dynamic scrum team, you will build microservices in near real-time environments, enhancing the scalability and performance of our platform.

Your primary responsibilities will include implementing scalable, stable, and secure coding patterns, developing high-scale microservices with near real-time performance, and contributing to Cato’s web application through backend and full-stack development. You will conduct code reviews to ensure quality, test coverage, and security, and understand the architecture and connected features of solutions. Additionally, you will architect end-to-end solutions for complex features, document trade-offs, and provide feedback on technical specifications. Participation in support and on-call rotations to respond to outage incidents and troubleshoot security issues is also expected.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of backend development experience with proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. Proven experience in high-performance environments and benchmark evaluation is essential, along with expertise in the architecture, design, and development of complex web applications. Experience with microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and Grafana is highly advantageous. Familiarity with SaaS/cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and web development using Go and GraphQL is a plus. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, a self-learning attitude, and a BSc in Computer Science from a recognized university are required.
